Sophie's music training began at the age of five when she took up piano lessons. From there she decided to give the violin a go, followed by the clarinet and finally by singing. She graduated from The Queensland Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music Studies majoring in Jazz Voice and Theatre in 2008 and was accepted into Harvest Rain’s 2009 Internship Program.
Sophie is excited to be continuing in the program this year and wants to explore Musical Direction as well as Performance. She has performed in many shows, most notably as Rizzo in Pine Rivers Music Associations' GREASE, and as Grusha in Harvest Rain Theatre Company’s' THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE. She found her love of Musical Directing during URINETOWN, on which she assisted Maitlohn Drew and looks forward to working with him again on SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD. Sophie is making her debut as a Music Director in March 2010 with EDGES: A SONG CYCLE.
