Announcing HAIRSPRAY Arena Spectacular for 2016

In 2014, Harvest Rain's arena production of CATS set a world record for the largest production of CATS ever staged in the southern hemisphere, featuring over 800 performers and seen by over 13,000 people. Now, Harvest Rain is set to break yet another world record by staging a major arena production of the Broadway musical HAIRSPRAY at the Brisbane Convention Centre in April 2016. Directed and choreographed by Callum Mansfield, this production of HAIRSPRAY will star Simon Burke as Edna Turnblad, Christine Anu as Motormouth Maybelle, Wayne Scott Kermond as Wilbur Turnblad and Rob Mills as Corny Collins alongside a core cast of 30 professional performers and a large amateur ensemble of over 500 local performers, making it the largest production of HAIRSPRAY ever staged in the world.

This is your chance to be part of this record breaking production!

We are looking for young performers between the ages of 9 and 21 to take up the once in a lifetime opportunity to perform in this large scale production alongside some of the biggest names in the country. This unique performance experience also comes with an invaluable training opportunity - each young artist who auditions successfully will be put through a rigorous HAIRSPRAY boot camp and performance training process before going on to participate in five performances of HAIRSPRAY from 8 to 10 April 2016.

All bootcamps, training opportunities, performance preparation times and performances take place during school holidays, so this is your chance to spend your holidays doing something you love with people who love it just as much as you!

If singing, acting or dancing is your passion, then don't miss your opportunity to be a part of this record breaking production! Auditions commence in August so apply today!
